Hard Core Green Smoothie

I’m calling this smoothie “hard core” because it is pretty intensely green. And, yes, you CAN taste the greens in this one but the fruits also make it very palatable so you can decide for yourself if you like it… when and if you choose to create this smoothie in your own kitchen!

I was inspired to create this green smoothie while reading Victoria Boutenko’s book Green for Life. In it, she talks of how she spent years researching chimps and their natural diets and how chimps and humans are so physiologically similar, sharing a whopping 99.4% of our DNA sequences. As it turns out, chimps eat a diet of predominantly GREENS and FRUITS. I thought they ate mostly bananas and insects! Victoria and her family had been on a raw food diet for years but she felt something was missing. So she discovered greens and started drinking green smoothies, with amazing results. It’s a great read and I recommend it! My usual morning smoothie always has greens and fruits but I left out the berries for this one and added more greens… yum.
