Strawberry Guava Smoothie

It’s finally warming up in the mountains! The warm breezes are a most welcome change of pace to replace the lingering cold weather we’ve had this spring. I know we just wrapped up smoothie week but I couldn’t resist making this yummy, Vitamin C-rich drink this morning as my honey and I welcomed the day on our front porch in the morning sun. As my dear friend Mel always says, “LIFE IS GOOD!”

I found a great guava juice—Ceres brand—in my local supermarket, which contains only guava and pear juice. I have never been able to find fresh guava fruit that is tasty and ripe. If you can, then use it in this smoothie in place of the juice!

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • ~ 2 cups (1 10 oz. package) frozen strawberries
  • 2 cups guava juice
  • ½ cup unsweetened dairy-free milk (soy, almond, hemp, etc.)
  • 2 TBS flax meal
  • 2 TBS hemp seeds
  • 1-2 pitted medjool dates if you want it sweeter (I found it sweet enough without)

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Jewel, enjoying the morning sun with us.

Makes 2 smoothies. Enjoy!

Healthy trails,
