Vegan Vanilla Chai Smoothie

Chai. Warm, spicy and wonderfully aromatic… yes. I like Chai. I remember years ago spending a lot of money at Starbucks on their chai lattes. Too much money. If only I had purchased some of their stock in the early days…

Well, if you like the taste of chai spices and enjoy smoothies, this is the beverage for you! Although there are no greens in here, there are plenty of nutrients! This smoothie is loaded with plant-strong protein… seeds, soy and nut butter!

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups soy milk
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup raw almond butter
  • 2 TBS ground flax seeds
  • 1 tsp raw chia seeds

      ~ the spices

  • 2 tsp cinnamon (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • …..OR if you have the spice blend called Garam Masala, you can simply use 1 TBS of this blend plus one teaspoon of cinnamon in place of all the spices listed above.
Directions:
  • Place all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Serves 2. Enjoy!
