Homemade Holiday Spiced Tea and Merry Christmas from HHK!

Ho-ho-ho, beautiful, healthy readers! I hope you are enjoying this magical holiday with friends and loved ones. I’ve been super busy celebrating and winding down from all of the shopping, gift wrapping and baking!

Today’s post is short and sweet. I love this combination of spices! It’s a soul-warming tea that you can enjoy any time of the year but especially when Jack Frost comes nipping at your nose!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup loose Rooibos tea
  • 8 clove buds
  • 6 star anise
  • 1 TBS red peppercorns
  • 1 TBS black peppercorns
  • 1 TBS juniper berries
  • 1 TBS green cardamom pods
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • pinch Spanish saffron
Directions:
  • Place all ingredients into a sauce pan and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Strain and serve.

Makes 4 cups. Enjoy!

I wanted to share this with you… my son’s girlfriend made this amazing wooden sign for my kitchen for me as a Christmas present! The photo doesn’t really do it justice. The detail on it is just fabulous. She burnt the lettering into the wood and painted it herself, too. Is that sweet or what? Love her!

Stay safe. Stay warm. Be joyful.
