I haven’t been posting many smoothies these days… come to think of it, I haven’t been drinking many either. There’s just something about consuming an ice-cold, frosty drink on a snowy morning that I can’t seem to warm up to (pun intended!).
But this smoothie has become one of my favorites and I’m sure you will love it, too. Fresh cranberries add a wonderful ZING while the walnuts smooth things out and the sweetness is derived from bananas and o.j. Add a date or two if it’s too sour for you.
- 3 frozen bananas
- 2 cups orange juice (fresh squeezed is best!)
- ½ cup raw walnuts
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 TBS ground flax seeds
- 2 dates (optional)
- some chopped walnuts and a few cranberries for garnish
- Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until combined. I left mine just a little short of smooth with some bits of cranberry not totally blended.
- Garnish with walnuts and cranberries if desired.
Serves 2. Enjoy!
