Tutti Frutti Smoothie

Tutti-frutti, in Italian, means “all fruits” and is traditionally used as an ice cream flavor, with bits of colorful, dried fruits. It was a warm morning and we had been sweating in the garden… so much work to do out there! So afterwards, I wanted something light, nutritious and flavorful that would cool us off. 

This fun, colorful smoothie really hit the spot! You can use whatever fruits and ingredients you like to make this. Just have fun and create away!


~ for the pink layer

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 TBS maca powder
  • ½-1 cup coconut water

~ for the yellow/orange layer

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 TBS hemp seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric (optional)
  • ½-1 cup coconut water

~ for the green layer

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 cups loosely packed spinach
  • 1 whole lime, peeled
  • ½-1 cup coconut water


  1. Place each layer’s ingredients into a high powdered blender and blend until smooth. Add enough coconut water to each to create a thick consistency. If you don’t have a high powered blender, such as a Vitamix, you will need more fluid.
  2. Rinse the blender between layers to keep the colors pure. 
  3. As you finish each layer, divide each batch into two 12 oz. glasses, one on top of another.

Makes two 12 oz. smoothies (or more if you use extra coconut water). Enjoy!
