4-Ingredient Vegan Chocolate Pudding

Chocolate lovers rejoice! This pudding is so rich, so creamy and has so much chocolatey goodness you will be hearing choirs of angels sing as you take your first bite. Okay, well maybe that’s not exactly true. But, wow! This one’s a winner.

Yup, it has avocado in it. I’ve had my share of avocado-based chocolate desserts, trust me. Usually they are way too sweet for my non-sweet tooth. And they almost always contain coconut oil and agave. Enter this fabulous oil-free, date-sweetened version.

Is your heart going pitter patter yet? The most dangerous best part about this dessert is that it takes only minutes to prepare. Oh, and did I mention it tastes absolutely sinful? Yeah, go for it.

  • 1 large, ripe Haas avocado
  • ΒΌ cup non-alkalized cocoa powder
  • Β½ cup pitted medjool dates
  • Β½ tsp pure vanilla extract (or sub vanilla beans to keep it raw)
NOTE: If you prefer a bit lighter texture, feel free to add a little plant-based milk to the mix, too.

  1. Soak dates in water for about one hour, until soft.
  2. Discard water and add dates with remaining ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Add 2-3 tablespoons of fresh water, if needed, to achieve a smooth, pudding texture.

Serves 3. Enjoy!

Haha! I don't see why not, Lynda! πŸ™‚

  3. I make this with banana instead of dates sometimes and add in orange zest and juice as I am a Jaffa adict. No way wd I ever eat egg / dairy / sugar mousse again…..the stuff s soon much better.

    Sounds yummy, Rach!!

  5. Eating it out of the bowl now. So good I don't want to lose any by pouring it into a smaller dish. Going to eat the whole thing right away, for lunch. I added 1/2 cup of kale so it's healthy. πŸ™‚

This is fabulous! I’ve tried other vegan puddings but this is by far my favorite. Thank you!
