Avocado Butter
Greetings wonderful ones! I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday weekend. Things were quiet around the homestead and that’s just fine with me. 🙂
Here is a crazy idea for you… an alternative to dairy butter or nut butter on your toast—avocado butter or “avo butter” as it is affectionately known in our house, which of course is not butter at all. Three ingredients and voilà! A lovely spread for your morning toast or muffin! No, it doesn’t taste like butter. It tastes better! Man, I could eat this stuff with a spoon. I hope you’ll give it a try.

Ingredients
- 1 medium-sized Haas avocado
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 TBS nutritional yeast
- pinch of salt (optional)
Method
- Mash the avocado and mix all ingredients together. It's that simple.
Sounds yummy… How long does this stay “green” and not turn “brown”?
Not long, Cindy. This is something that needs to be eaten up right away… oh the horrors! 🙂
Don’t forget to top with red pepper flakes too!

this is great making vegan sloppy joes and got avocado to use in place of mayo, this will work

What a great idea. The nutritional yeast kicks up the B12. I usually make my avocado spread with just a little plain salsa, but I am going to give this a whirl next time
